Singer/guitarist Joe L贸pez met Jimmy Gonz谩lez while attending high school in Brownsville, TX. Sharing a passion for popular music, they assembled a band called Grupo Mazz in 1978, becoming one of the first Tejano acts to introduce keyboards. In 1999, after two decades of playing together, Joe L贸pez and Jimmy Gonz谩lez went different ways, forming Joe L贸pez y La Nueva Imagen Mazz and Jimmy Gonz谩lez y el Grupo Mazz, respectively.
